Hello

I am a cognitive and clinical science teacher/scholar and industry professional with an interest in reducing human suffering and improving emotional well-being.

I am the former Dennis and Charlot Nelson Singleton Professor of Cognitive Neuroscience and Assistant Professor of Psychology at Lawrence University (LU). At LU I taught courses that contributed to the psychology department as well as the cognitive science and neuroscience programs. See more under Teaching.

I was the Principal Investigator of the Thought and Emotion Lab where we studied the mechanisms underlying the multidimensionality of thought and thought-related processes. See more under Research

I am passionate about interacting with and providing approachable cognitive science and mental health education to my community. See more under Outreach.

I value contributing to my professional community and can often be found taking the lead in bringing people together to work on a common goal at a departmental or institutional level. See more under Service.
